A classic Italian baked tart featuring a buttery shortcrust pastry filled with sweet fruit jam and topped with a decorative lattice crust.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Set aside about one-sixth of the shortcrust pastry and roll out the remaining portion to be slightly larger than your baking mold.
  2. Place the rolled shortcrust pastry into the baking mold, pressing it up the sides to form a container for the jam.
  3. Pour the jam or marmalade into the pastry shell and spread evenly with a spoon.
  4. Roll the reserved pastry into thin strips and arrange them in a criss-cross lattice pattern over the jam.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Allow the tart to cool completely to room temperature before removing from the mold to prevent it from breaking.
