English:
A comforting and velvety classic soup made from tender leeks and potatoes simmered in rich stock, infused with bay leaf, white pepper, and optional nutmeg. Finished with heavy cream and blended until smooth, this warm dish offers a simple yet rich depth of flavor.

Ingredients

Directions

  1. English:
  2. Wash and chop the white and light-green parts of the leeks into medium pieces; discard the dark-green tops.
  3. Melt the unsalted butter in a large pot over medium-low heat. Add the chopped leeks and sliced potatoes, cooking and stirring until the leeks sweat and soften.
  4. Pour in the stock and add the bay leaf, white pepper, nutmeg, and dill weed if using.
  5. Raise the heat to medium-high and bring to a simmer. Cook until the potatoes are completely tender.
  6. Remove the pot from heat and discard the bay leaf. Use an immersion blender to puree the soup directly in the pot until it reaches your desired consistency.
  7. Stir in the heavy cream and season with salt to taste before serving hot.
  8. Español (México):
