Fresh tender herbs like cilantro, parsley, and mint stay fresh significantly longer when treated like fresh-cut flowers. Trim the stem ends slightly and place them upright in a small glass jar filled with an inch of water. Cover the top loosely with a plastic bag and store in the main body of your refrigerator. For hard herbs like rosemary and thyme, wrap them loosely in a damp paper towel and store them inside an airtight container or zip-top bag.
